Another item from EVERETT RAWLINS of Ohio...it concerned his grandfather JOHN DIAL RAWLINS, who married Elizabeth (last name unknown) on May 21, 1871, in Scioto Co., Portsmouth, Ohio. The had 6 children : NELLIE HANNAH, DANIEL LINDSEY, BENTON LEWIS, JOHN WESLEY (EVERETT'S father), HENRY HARRISON and MABEL HULDAH.

JOHN WESLEY was born June 27, 1881 and died June 20, 1963. He md Mary Elizabeth Bonner March 30, 1910, in Scioto Co., Ohio.

It is noted in family history had EVERETT's grandmother was one quarter Indian.

And still another item from Mr. RAWLINS to Charlotte.

WILLIAM J. RAWLINGS, birthdate and place unknown; died January 1850. He md Nancy Marshall (1773-1870) ca 1791. She was the daughter of Samuel Marshall Sr. (1750-1816) Children: There were 10: WILLIAM, MARY, SAMUEL, CHARLES, JOHN, ELIJAH, ELIZABETH, CYNTHIANA, DAVID and JESSE MARSHALL.

CHARLES, JOHN, ELIJAH, ELIZABETH, CYNTHIANA, DAVID and JESSE all predeceased their father. CHARLES had 2 sons, JOHN and JESSE...the elder JESSE had two sons, JESSE and Permenius...JOHN had 3 girls and 5 boys, NANCY, MARY & BIRD; AMOS, DILLARD, JEFFERSON, JOHN & ELIJAH. DAVID had 2 girls and 5 boys, CAROLINE and MARY JANE; ELI, JESSE, HENDERSON, WORTHINGTON and HARRISON. These families all remained in Ohio.

CORRECTION

On P.59 of the December 2000 issue, information from Barbara Werho regarding websites connecting RAWLINGS/RUARK lines, and specifically concerning LLOYD RAWLINGS: Note - the LLOYD mentioned as the son of Elizabeth Ruark born 1810. This LLOYD, first son of Elizabeth Ruark of Maryland and JAMES RAWLIN(G)S of Virginia/Ohio/Illinois, was born June 10, 1803 in Geauga Co., Ohio (now Lake County).
