From a query found in the Genealogical Helper, September 1962:

According to Robert Barnes in his 'Notes on the RAWLINGS FAMILY of Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties, Maryland'- October 1981, this query refers to a MICHAEL RAWLINGS listed in the 1750 Debt Book of Baltimore County, Maryland, and owning 50 acres of CHATTOM. This query stated that this MICHAEL RAWLINGS died ca 1774-1776 in Washington Co., PA, and that he had one child JOSHUA, b. ca 1766 who died 1801 in Bourbon Co., Kentucky, and who had married Verlinda Darnall ca 1789. (Mr. Barnes had been doing some research for a Dr. Martin.)

Those members of R/RFHA who have been researching the family which includes NATHAN, ASAHEL, MICHAEL, MOSES et al (RAWLINGS) in an attempt to solve the various mysteries of this family might be surprised to note this particular information since the Washington Co., PA MICHAEL RAWLINGS in whom they are interested is usually considered as dying 1780/81, leaving his widow Mary and children young enough to require a tutor since she appears before the Orphan Court asking for sums for that purpose. Perhaps those interested should locate this particular issue of the GENEALOGICAL HELPER.
