The R/RFHA received a nice long letter from Beverly Allan with additional information regarding several RAWLIN(G)S, some corrections from our December newsletter, and general information on some web sites of interest to R's of all spellings.

(1) Re: article on "STEPHEN & ELIZABETH (Tyler) RAWLINGS AND THEIR DESCENDANTS", please note that the two unnamed daughters of STEPHEN and Elizabeth are most probably MARY and SARAH. The circumstantial evidence is very strong that MARY married Robert Kennedy...and SARAH married Daniel Kennedy

(2)In the same article, please note that the date of STEPHEN's birth should be ca 1721 and not 1713.

(3)On P.52 of the December Newsletter, the 1850 Crawford Co., Indiana census...this STEPHEN RAWLINGS, aged 40, with wife Mary, was the nephew of WILSON L. RAWLINGS and not his brother. This STEPHEN's wife was Mary "Polly" Whitman.

(4)Your Editor misspelled Bev's home city. It should be read as Bellingham, WA, and not Burlingham. She also points out that she no longer charges for the STEPHEN RAWLINGS Research Work for descendants of STEPHEN and Elizabeth.

(6)Bev has found the website http://www.rawlins.org contains a lot of great information on RAWLINS, and she's disappointed not to find a similar group for RAWLINGS. We must point out here that the person to blame or praise for this RAWLINS website (those were his words), if one of our subscribers, LYLE RAWLINS. (website address verified 09/23/2004)
