Season's Greetings All,
First, may I take this opportunity to thank all of you who
sent me such nice, warm notes of condolence on the death of my husband, Wayne.
It was deeply appreciated by the whole family.
I want to thank RICHARD ROLLINS, one of our members, for
donating his fine work of research on the Surry/Sussex County, Virginia, RAWLIN(G)S/ROLLIN(G)S
down through his line from 1617 to 1838. Those of you who descend from GREGORY
and JOHN and the rest, particularly if your line comes through RICHARD of that family,
will want to contact RICHARD ROLLINS, 2484 County Rd. 222, Durango, CO 81301
A subtle reminder that you will find enclosed the renewal
form for 1999. Those of you who have already paid ignore the slip if I happen
to mistakenly enclose it with your newsletter. And while speaking of such things,
anyone who knows the whereabouts of Sue ROLLINS-Allen or Virginia ROLLINS
Moore, I'd like to hear from you. Their newsletters have come back marked
"Attempted to Deliver - Unknown."
You will probably receive a shock when you see how much the
printing of the newsletter cost for the September issue. It seems my printer has
almost doubled the price, citing paper costs and ink as the cause. I have
checked around and it seems to be true every place I've called. Thank heavens
we have a healthy treasury.
I hope everyone has the happiest of Christmases with those
you love around you, and the most successful and healthful 1999.
