Dear Cousins:
I hope you had a great Christmas and look forward to the
best of all possible New Years. We all deserve it.
Well, we've come through our 10th year and seem to get
stronger all the time. Many inquiries from our exposure in various genealogical
and history societies throughout the country, as well as mention on the
Internet. This year I will place E-Mail addresses when I print names and
addresses of contributors so that those of you who have computers can communicate
in that fashion. Your editor is still too old-fashioned to attempt that mode of
communication.
You will note the 1998 Renewal slip is enclosed. For those
of you who have already renewed just ignore it if I happen to enclose it in
your newsletter in error.
For those of you who are familiar with your editor's
seemingly fruitless search for her husband's ancestor whom we call
"mysterious JAMES"...JAMES RAWLINS of Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio
and Illinois ...I am happy to report that we at last know- of his death date
and place and will now pursue obituary notices to see if you can obtain sane
information concerning his parents and place of birth. It's been a long search.
We have purchased the New Hampshire Provincial Deeds record
for RAWLINS/ ROLLINS for those interested in information re that particular
line.
May the blessings of good health, good friends and
successful research be yours in 1998, our 11th year.
