NB - This list of Civil cases continues thru 1814. It is a list of those involved whose names begin with R. Out of the total of 93 cases, 56 involved a RANKIN, and 27 involved RAWLINGS, primarily NATHAN. After 1807 there were no more RAWLINGS cases.

The State of Ohio, Pickaway County.

"I hereby testify that on the 4th day of September (1828) agreeable to license issued by the Clerk of said County, I joined together in holy bonds of matrimony James Walker and MARGARET RAWLINGS, they being of lawful age. JOHN E. RAWLINGS, farmer and breeder of fine stock, Postoffice Kumler, one of the early settlers of the state, was born in Fleming Co., KY, Oct. 18, 1810, coming to this state in 1837, settling in Sangamon County in the same year. He has been a resident of McLean County since 1859. His farm consists of 160 acres, valued at $6,000. Previous to his coming to this county, he resided in Menard and Sangamon Counties 24 years, during which time he held the office of Justice of the Peace in Menard 8 years, Constable in Sangamon 3 years, and coroner in Menard 2 years. He was married in 1834 to Miss Polly Scott, who was born in Tennessee. They have had seven children; five of when are living. They are AUSTIN, ELLA, MINNIE, FRANCIS A., and JOHN F. Deceased are LOUISA and MARY JANE. AUSTIN, the eldest son of Mr. RAWLINGS, served four years in the late war (Civil War), enlisting in the 1st Missouri Cavalry, which was afterward credited to this state, at the expiration of which time he re-enlisted as a veteran, was promoted to Sergeant, and later was elected 2nd Lieutenant. He served until the close of the war when he was discharged with honor by general order.

Franklin Co., Ohio

Jan. 4, 1807, MOSES RAWLINGS and Sally McCandlis were married by NATHAN RAWLINGS, JP of Franklin County.
