Knox County, Indiana Territory: Wording is the same, clerk
of the circuit court is Robert Buntin, but the participants are ALEXANDER BANKS
and NANCY RAWLINGS; the date is Oct. 29, 1816.

Nancy is the widow of ASAHEL RAWLINGS, brother to NATHAN,
MOSES, et al. She was Nancy Pendergast before marriage. The NANCY marrying
Banks is the daughter of ASAHEL and Nancy (Pendergast) RAWLINGS. There seems to
be no further mention of these two women.

Have you noticed lately how many RAWLIN(G)S and ROLLIN(G)S have been appearing in the news or movies or television series? A detective story series in recent publication and now a movie "Devil in a Blue Dress" has as its hero an African-American named EASY RAWLINS. There is a sheriff in Kittybunk, Mass., named PHILLIP ROLLINS. HOWARD ROLLINS was the co-star of the TV series "In the Heat of the Night". There is a father-and-son combo of RICHARD and JOHN RAWLINS who are cinematographers. There is the JOHN RAWLINS mentioned in a recent newsletter who was a director. Talented people, we R's.
The above is sent in by Jane Patterson, 2452 N. Cumberland Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46229.
It is a laser copy of a copy and she does not have the original. The name is LLOYD RAWLINGS Jr., or belongs to him, and is possibly of a RAWLINGS relative. Does anyone know who this is, or who LLOYD RAWLINGS Jr. was?
