Seasons Greetings to you all!

It's been a great 8th year of publishing our newsletter. Our membership now is 175, and our bank balance is a healthy one. Subscribers send us information on a regular basis and our inquiries are numerous. Many ask us to verify information and all the editor can do is forward them to whichever subscriber we have who can answer the question or questions. Works out great!

Thanks to those of you who answered my request for information on OMRI RAWLINS on P.37 of the September newsletter. It seems he prepared a history of his line which is now in circulation. As to HENRIETTA RAWLINGS of Savannah, Georgia, no one seems to have heard of her. Now I'm wondering where I heard of her. I guess I have "old timer's disease". I was corrected however on the fact that the TOM and Mary RAWLINGS HISTORY of Telfair, Georgia, was to be credited to her.

You will note a rather long submission on pp 54 thru 57 concerning the so-called "Llewelyn Treason Plot" in North Carolina during the Revolutionary War. We have several subscribers who may, if early research is correct, descend from this JAMES RAWLIN(G)S/ROLLIN(G)S. (There are many spellings for his name depending upon who are reading.) LYLE B. RAWLINS, did a masterful job of researching this family, and so has DEE and OLLIE RAWLINS of Texas. In all cases it is a mystery whether JAMES was their ancestor. In all the records of the conspiracy only "his family" is indicated, no names. It might do to research in North Carolina now since this new information has surfaced.

Received a nice Christmas card and letter from GARTH RAWLINS of Australia whose letter was included in the last issue on P.44. I had sent him a copy of that newsletter for his enjoyment, which he had, he told me.

Once again you will find the renewal slip enclosed. I will not include one with the newsletter of anyone who has already paid for 1996. If inadvertently I do, just toss it, or give it to someone who might want to join with us.

Happy holidays ... and a great New Year!!!
