Editor's Note: There are some errors in this. Matilda Ruark was the adopted daughter of Reason Ruark. Her mother was Jane Banks of Georgia, whose ancestors had lived there and in North Carolina for several generations. This family is that of my husband Wayne, with LLOYD as his great-grandfather, and SAMUEL OREM as his grandfather. It is of great interest to us to know whom is Della S. Gaffner. The family does not know the name at all.

SAMUEL was a physician who lived and practiced in New Harmony, Posey Co., Indiana. He married Nancy Alice Youngblood, and they had 7 children; 3 boys died in infancy, leaving NAOMI who married and had no children; CLAUDE OREM who married and had two children; ERMINA who married and had one son; and ELBERT WAYNE, who married and had two children, one of wtxrn is ELBERT WAYNE RAWLINGS, my husband. We have three sons: DAVID JOHN FITZGEALD, MICHAEL SEAN McKENNA and ROBERT DOUGLAS FAY. Only ROBERT is married, and has one daughter CHRISTY, aged 4.
