"The ROLLIN California Enterprize Company was organized at Winter Quarters, June 25th, 1849. Judge Thomas H. Owen was chosen captain, from Hancock Co., Ill; Thomas Kealy, First Lt., from Lawrence Co., Mich.; Rieley Senter, 2nd Lt. and clerk, from Wyoming Co., NY. The company consisted of 72 persons. There
were several families in this company who intend making California their future ham. They intend to cultivate the soil. We received the Constitution and by-laws - the crowded state of our columns prevented us from publishing it."
