Searching for the death date of my great grandfather, GEORGE W. RAWLINGS. He was the son of JAMES RAWLINGS and Rachel (Lemon) RAWLINGS of Edina, Know Co., Missouri; born 1844 in Edina; m. to Lucy Wonderly Dec. 25, 1865, Edina. Seven children: ZENA, EZEKIEL, SUSANNIE, GEORGE Jr., MINNIE, CHARLES and MARY. George left his family shortly after the birth of Mary in 1878, and was rumored to have gone to Texas or Oklahoma, but this unproven. In the obituary of his son, EZEKIEL, in 1944, is a mention of survivors who include CHARLES of Dallas, Texas ... and GEORGE of Oklahoma. Any help on this line would be appreciated.

Need help in locating relatives as I am preparing a history of our family for my children. There is little I know other than (1) My father's name is RICHARD FREEMAN RAWLINGS, and he and his kin are from Birmingham, Alabama. Some also gravitated to Georgia and Louisiana. I have a cousin I have never met named JEAN/GEAN who is a chemist; and an uncle HUEY L. RAWLINGS who is or was an executive for TCI in Birmingham, Alabama. The verbal history of this family suggests they came early to the colonies, and were originally in Virginia, Tennessee and the Georgia area. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might know of this family so that I may begin my research. My purpose in mentioning my two cousins is perhaps being able to make contact so as to learn of mutual ancestors. Hope to hear from someone.
