The

ISSN #1055-1891
Volume 5 No. l March
1992
Dear Cousins All:
We now
have 96 members, new and old, signed up for 1992, which is a good omen. For
those of you who haven't renewed, I hope you will do so before the next issue,
since this March issue will be your last if you should forget.
Enclosed
you will find your index for 1991. One small change: it includes the names of
wives of R's who are prominently and often mentioned in records of one kind or
another. This is indicated by the (Mrs.) after the name. Also, Ethel Lawson,
one of our members, has suggested that we do what other family association
newsletters do, which is to start with Issue One, Page One ... and number each
page consecutively to the end of the year. Both she and I think that would be a
lot easier for everyone when looking up a particular name. Those for or against
let me know your thoughts.
Bev Allan
of Stockton writes to let us know that the new Directory of Family Associations
compiled by Elizabeth P. Bentley and published by the Genealogical Publishing
Company in Baltimore includes the R/RFHA. That book, by the way, may be
purchased for $29.95 plus $1.00 Postage & Handling from the Genealogical
Publishing Company. Add 5% Maryland Sales Tax.
For those
of you whose ancestors were in Tennessee there is a publication which might be
of interest to you, the East Tennessee Advertiser of Historical and
Genealogical Resources. It is free and you can add it to your mailing list by
writing TENNESSEE VALLEY PUBLICATIONS, 1345 Oakridge Turnpike #118, Oak Ridge,
TN 37830.
At
Christine Crawford-Oppenheimer's suggestion I have submitted our name to
Everton Publisher's Family Association Directory. We're getting better known
all the time.
Remember
that as of the First of March the information from the 1920 U.S. Census is
available for viewing at your nearest Federal Archives & Records Center.
