The lineage of CHARLES RAWLINGS, son of WALTER RAWLINS of London, England. CHARLES was born ca 1749 in London, died in 1812 in Sussex Co., Delaware. The name of his wife is unknown, place and date of their marriage also unknown. Their children were: JOHN, b. Feb. 6, 1781; died March 29, 1851. He married (1) Nancy Smith, Feb. 6, 1806; (2) Patsy Morris in 1810, and the family moved to Scott Co., Kentucky. He married (3) Mrs. Catherine Hutchinson in 1849. JOHN's children were:

NANCY D. who married Thomas Griffith, and they had 13 children.

SALLY ANN who married George Power, and they had 3 children.

ALAZEUS, who died unmarried in 1845.

ELIZABETH who married Thomas Offet, and they had 5 children.

JOHN P. who married Mary Warring. He died in 1852, and they had no children.

WILLIAM K. who married Mary Hinton, and they had several children, one of whom was SOLOMEN who became a doctor.

JAMES B. who married ? and who had children, one of whom being SAMUEL who became a doctor.

FRANKLIN J. C. who married Mary Weaver. He also became a doctor and the family moved from Kentucky to Franklin County, Indiana.

Another child of CHARLES RAWLINS was WINDSOR, born 1785, place unknown. He married Catherine Hinton in 1816, and they had children. WINDSOR died Dec. 18, 1862. His children were all born in Kentucky, where he went in 1811. They were:

MARY who married Samuel Godey and had 7 children.

PATSY who married Samuel Hastings and had 1 daughter. Son who died in infancy.

NANCY who married a Hawkins Fitzgerald, and they moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana.

SOLOMON who married Nancy Allen.

ELIZABETH who died young.

GABRIELLA who married James Young and who had 6 children.

PENELOPE who married John Estil, and they moved to Missouri. They had 2 children.

SARAH who married Leander Steediman.

 

Another child of CHARLES RAWLINS was LOT, born in 1787, died Feb. 7, 1862. LOT remained in Delaware whereas three of his brothers went to Kentucky. He married (1) Eliza Twiford; (2) Ann Brown, and by these two women he had children. His third wife was a widow, Mrs. Mary James, whom he married in 1857. They had no children. His children were:

MARY ANN who married (1) Obadiah Baker, had 1 son whom her uncle LOT adopted. Her second husband was Stephen Major, and they had 4 children.

WILLIAM, b. 1817, married Susan Osbourne, and had 8 children.

JOHN MORGAN, b. 1819, married Leah Anderson in 1845, and they had 3 children.

JAMES, b. 1821, married (1) Sarah Hopkins, had 1 daughter IDA BELL,b.1860;

m. (2) Mary Hopkins, and they had 2 children.

CHARIES A.T., b. 1823, m. Sabra Hall in 1849, and they had 4 children.

THOMAS DAYTON, b. 1826, m. Sina Kinder, and they had only 1 son.

PHILIP H., b. 1834, m. Rhoda Wright in 1854, and they moved to Maryland. They had 2 sons, and PHILIP became a Methodist minister.

Another son of CHARLES RAWLINS was PHILIP, birthdate unknown. He died by drowning in 1814 in Baltimore Maryland. He never married.

 

The 5th son of CHARLES RAWLINS was JAMES, b. Feb. 2, 1800, moved to Kentucky, married Gabriella Jones Feb. 4, 1829.They had 3 daughters:

SARAH ELIZA who married Edward Barlow, and they had 1 son.

CHARLES-ANN, who married Urias Hambrick, and had 2 children.

MARY BELL, who married B.D. Best in 1870, no more is known.

 

CHARLES RAWLINS only daughter was NANCY, b. 1792. She married Edward Warring of Delaware, and they had 7 children. NANCY died June 15, 1860, in Delaware.
