"History of Franklin and Pickaway Counties, Ohio", pub. by Williams Bros. P.328

MOSES RAWLINS Cane from Maryland as early as 1808 and took a fifteen years' lease on a part of' Edward Williams' place, opposite the farm now owned by Philomene Gray. He raised twelve children, five of whom are still living. A son, EZEKIEL, married twice. He settled in Scioto, and had twenty-six children, seven by his first wife and nineteen by his second, who survives him." (MOSES born in MD, came from KY.)

 

From Gravestone Inscriptions, Pickaway County, Ohio

ALBINA RAWLINGS, wife of EZEKIEL, died Dec. 7, 1844, aged 31 years. Buried in cemetery on Paul Peters farm in Harrison Township.

Ed. Note: This MOSES was the son of MOSES (1740-1787). His wife was Sally McCandlis.

Only 1 child is noted from the marriage of EZEKIEL RAWLINGS and Elmira McDonald: DANIEL, b. 1842; d: Feb. 14, 1863, as a combatant in the War Between the States, at St. Louis, Missouri. They were married Aug. 26, 1846, Pickaway Co. The children from the marriage of EZEKIEL RAWLINGS and his second wife, Celia Ann McCarty, are:

JANE RAWLINGS m. Joseph Bogart in 1806 in Franklin Co., Ohio, with parents' consent.

DAVID RAWLINGS m. Jane Martin in Pickaway County in 1810

LETITIA (Letty) RAWLINGS m. John Denny in 1806 in Pickaway County.

m. Philip Gatewood

SAMUEL RAWLINGS settled in Fayette Co., Ohio, near Bloomingsburg.

MICHAEL RAWLINGS went to Pickaway County post 1808,

NATHAN RAWLINGS went to Franklin County.
