Here is
some information which might be of interest to someone, as it does not pertain
to my ROLLINS line who emigrated to Southern Illinois.
In 1818,
store accounts and some early land records at Old Brownsville, Illinois, which
was the county seat for Jackson County, but whose name later changed to
Murphysboro, after a fire destroyed the Courthouse at Old Brownsville. The
names mentioned in these records were: RAYEDELL ROLLINS and JOHN ROLLINS. This
JOHN is too early for the JOHN connected to my family. I've found nothing else
to help identify these two, and I presume they are both man. Someone may be
looking for them. The fire mentioned above was in 1843 and destroyed most
records for that area. There is a possibility they could be related to mine as
siblings of my great-great-grandfather JONATHAN ROLLINS, who moved from
Maryland to Ohio. His children were the ones who migrated to Southern Illinois.
At this date I do not know the siblings of JONATHAN. It sometimes is GUESS ...
GUESS ... GUESS, isn't it?
