From "Courts of Justice, Bench and Bar, Washington Co., Penn." by Boyd Crumrine, P.4 - "At a Council of War held at Catfish Camp in the District of West Augusta on Tuesday the 28th day of January, 1777..." attended Capt. MICHAEL RAWLINGS. (Later the town of Washington was built on the site of Catfish Camp.)

In the Calvert Co., Genealogical Society Newsletter, Feb.1990:

William V. Watson, b. Charles Co., MD m. MARY LEE RAWLING (1877-1942) on Feb. 23, 1898. MARY LEE, was the dtr. of JAMES WILLIAM & Dorcilla (Buckler) RAWLINGS. The happy couple eventually had 7 children.

GUSSIE RAWLINGS, b. Aug.1885, d. 1971, was also a daughter of JAMES W. and Dorcilla RAWLINGS. She m. Wm. E. Freeland b. 1871.

In the Same newsletter is a brief history of the Rupp Family, a son of which, Frederick E. Rupp, m. MARY ELIZABETH RAWLINGS, parents unknown. This marriage would have occurred in the present century.

Frederick's sister Ruth Helen married TILGHMAN DORSEY RAWLINGS, also in this century.

BENJAMIN RAWLINGS, Edgecomb Co., Dec.10, 1738; Feb. Court 1738-39. Mentions no wife, no children by name, lists as heirs: Edmund, Thomas & Sarah Kearney; Elizabeth & William Alston; and Elizabeth, wife of Samuel Williams.

JOHN RAWLINS, Northhampton Co., March 26, 1747-Nov.Court 1747. Heirs are wife Hannah, dtrs. SUSANNAH and LUCY. WM. RAWLINGS a testator.
