The
Rawlin(g)s Rollin(g)s Family History Association
Volume 3 No. 4 December 1990
Season's Greetings, Cousins All!
Once
again it's my great pleasure to wish you all the merriest of Holidays and the
happiest and most prosperous of New Years.
It's been
another good year for the R/RFHA. We've lost some members but others have
returned after being gone for a year. We've
also picked up some new members, most of those learning of our Association
through word-of-mouth. Then there are several who have heard of us from an
organization to which we've sent regular conies of the Newsletter. All we need
is two of those and it pays for the free copy we send to the organization.
Personally I feel the Newsletter does a good job of assisting subscribers to
either find the answers to their genealogical problems... or to connect with
someone who has the answers. Whether or not that was the case for you in 1990,
I hope you will join with us again in 1991. You'll find a membership renewal
form enclosed.
I'm very
excited about some special news we received in November. a request came from
the Library of Congress for a copy of the Newsletter. (How they heard about us
I have no idea!) They also asked if we could continue to provide them with the
quarterly issues for their archives. I, of course, answered in the affirmative,
and did better than that in that I also sent them copies of all of our past
issues. I don't know if this is common practice for the Library to request
surname periodicals but personally I felt it was an honor. In addition, I might
tell you that we are also listed in the Heritage Quest periodical, and will be
from now on. In fact we have already received two new memberships from that
listing.
Thank you
all for making this Newsletter whatever success it is. Without your
contributions of information it wouldn't even exist. So keep up the good work
and I'll look forward to welcoming you all back in 1991.
