RAWLINGS - Village near Fort Hill. Potomac River, Allegany Co., now West Virginia. First called "Hickory Flats", generally known as "Rawlings Station District. Col. Moses Rawlings was first to settle here, village owes its name to him. He was hero of the Revolution.

It might be of value if the R/RFHA were to take a roll of those who descend from JOHN RAWLINGS (1690-1727) of Maryland, and from which child: FRANCIS, JOHN, ELEANOR & CATHERINE, plus newly discovered ELIZABETH and JEHOSOPHAT. (see P. 6). Most come from one of FRANCIS' 14 children. Bob descends from RICHARD. son of FRANCIS.
