Deed: Nov. 2/1686. Miles Gibson, for 9,000 lbs. tobacco, conveying to JOHN RAWLINGS, planter, 150 acres, being half of tract "Collets Neglect" at Elk Neck Creek in Gunpowder River, said tract formerly granted to George Holland & later being the dwelling plantation of John Hall, sub-sheriff, having received six shillings from RAWLINGS for alienation. Grantor acknowledges in Nov. court & gives possession. Deputy Clerk John Hathaway certifies for Clerk Hedge.

JAMES H. RAWLINGS and Virginia W. Minor were married 18th July 1843 at Bracketts by the Rev. Joseph Ernest. Married in Charlottesville by Rev. Edgar Woods July 7, 1868, JAMES MINOR RAWLINGS to Helen Carter Watson.

VIRGINIA W. RAWLINGS died the 10th day of May 1847 (?) at Woodbury in Spotsylvania County, buried at Sunning Hill.

JAMES HENRY RAWLINGS died (no date) and was buried at Sunning Hill.

Mrs. BETTIE RAWLINGS THOMSON, daughter of JAMES M. & Helen C. RAWLINGS, wife of Dr. Charles W. Thomson, died in Spartansburg, S.C. June 17, 1873, aged 24.

DR. JAMES MINOR RAWLINGS died in Charlottesville of Angina Pectoris Feb.1, 1878. aged 51.

DR. JAMES HENRY RAWLINGS, son of JAMES M. and Helen C. RAWLINGS, died in Lynchburg, Va., April 4, 1945.

Helen Carter Watson, widow of DR. JAMES MINOR RAWLINGS, died in Charlottesville Dec. 13, 1933.

MARY NORRIS RAWLINGS, dtr. of DR. JAMES MINOR & Helen C. RAWLINGS died in Charlottesville June 8, 1960, aged 86.

JAMES RAWLINGS Thomson, died in Charlottesville Nov.27, 1964, aged 71/ yrs. (b.4/21/1893)
